Bassi falls area is a very popular hike for several very good reasons. This is a short flat hike that just about any one can make, it also has many swimming holes and of course a waterfall. In the spring the road to the trail head is usually muddy and may need to have a high clearance vehicle to make it there, but this is when the water fall is at its peak with the cold clear snow melt crashing down the cliff and cascading down the grate slabs. In the mid summer the swimming holes are cool and inviting on a hot July day. In the fall when the falls is trickling down the granite the water fall has carved deep round holes in the granite that make great swimming holes. The gates are locked in the wither and you will need show shoes to hike in from the paved road.
