Eagle falls trail is possibly the busiest train in south lake Tahoe; this short steep hike takes you from the parking area to eagle lake; though most people don’t venture that far. The trail is popular with rock climbers as ninety foot wall is about 200 yard from the top of the falls. Once you cross the bridge the trail follows the creek up to eagle lake where is splits to either side of the lake. Eagle lake is surrounded by granite peaks and is one of the gateways to desolation wilderness. (A steep gateway) Past the top of the falls on the south side on the creek there is a relatively flat spot that makes and good place to relax, just far enough off the trail to be a lot less crowded and not so hard to get to that you wouldn’t want to pack a little something to enjoy while you relax.
Remember pack it in pack it out so that every one can enjoy these areas.
Eagle Falls is a extremely popular hike to the hikers bridge where you are met with a birds eye view of eagle falls.
